I knew Nawaal's Dad, Noore for a long time. as we had worked together. Noore always spoke fondly about his daughter, who played softball. So it was no surprise when he asked me to capture his daughters wedding day.

I met the couple for the first time, on the day of the wedding as all communication happened via whats app. Ethan and Nawaal were truly an amazing couple. I wasn’t just the photographer on the day, they made me feel like family during their beautiful and soulful Nikah (Muslim ceremony) at Islamia Mosque.

They were not the only ones tied to each other that day. Families were joined, friends became family. Sometimes words steal from the imagery. It was a very personal shoot for me, I had hoped to leave my fingerprint on the day, and if you look careful, you’ll find it.

I asked Nawaal how they met and this what she had to say

"We both worked in the same building, the Sport Science Institute of SA. Ethan worked in the gym and I worked on the 4th floor. It was only necessary to work out during lunch hour and ask for his assistance to carry a very light box to a corner for me so I could do jumps. I asked him to train me and we connected instantly. I must say, I was in very good shape for the constant gym sessions. Lol. He was my motivation. A city girl and farm town boy."
